This month we give A Huge Thanks to our “Old El Dorado Jamboree” hardworking volunteers. Patty Hession, Kim Mistos and Jacki Malvini did the lion’s share of the work. Other great volunteers who cooked, baked, bartended, served, set up, cleaned up or were otherwise extremely helpful, were Ken Malvini, Chris Malvini, Sharon Clause, Kara Blanch, Bonnie and Dick Giles, Doug Meeks, Richard DeGarmo, Di Jackson, Lynn Darmsted, Diane Cahill and Richard and John Scadding. We are also very grateful to our youth volunteers: Katie Costello, Annie Curtis, Robert Cahill, Jack Malvini and Darren Hunt. And Special Thanks to all the guests who made this important fundraiser an amazing success.
After School Drop-in Program: The program is available Monday through Friday, from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. during all days school is in session. Dean Hunt, our Youth Aide, is available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Lunch with Us: This month Lunch with Us meals are scheduled for April 2 and 16, 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Center opens earlier at 9:00 a.m. for coffee, socializing, and Wi-Fi use. These luncheons are jointly offered by the MRYA Resource Center, the Mountain Ranch Community Club, and local churches. Lunches are free but donations are very welcome. If you are interested in volunteering to help serve food or clean up, call the Resource Center at 754-4073. Donations of folding chairs in good condition would be greatly appreciated. Please call 754-4073 to donate.
Food Commodities and Food Pantry: Distributions will be on Thursdays April 2 and 16 respectively, at the front building.
Kristine’s next HERBAL WORKSHOP will be a “Spring Weed Walk” with a special kombucha demonstration, on Sunday, April 19 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at her residence in Mtn. Ranch. Bring containers and hand tools to dig up any extra starts, pick botanicals or take cuttings. Kristine’s May HERBAL WORKSHOP “Natural Hair Care” will be on Saturday, May 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Resource Center in conjunction with the Mtn. Mamas Herbal Wellness Collective of Railroad Flat. To register for the May workshop, contact either Kristine at the above email, or Autumn Andahl at AutumnAndahl@gmail.com.
ART ON DISPLAY for March/April features the work of Kathleen Ball, Ph.D. of Mtn. Ranch. Kathleen is an international traveler and scholar as well as a talented artist. She will be talking about the inspiration for her show entitled “Angelic Descent, Return to Earth” during her Open House/Artist Reception Party on Friday, April 10 from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Come for the Food, Fun, Art, Community, and Music by Nancy & Lois, friends of the artist.
MAKE FRENCH BREAD with Nina Nakamura, on Thursday, April 23 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. This is a workshop for making “French Bread” baguettes and rolls. Wine will be served. The cost for the workshop is $10. Contact the Resource Center at 754-4073 to register.
HATHA YOGA CLASS: Regular hours in April: 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. “Summer Hours”: 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. begin Wednesday, May 6.
GRANDPARENTS AND OTHERS RAISING RELATED CHILDREN: More and more grandparents and relatives are caring for related children. Come together at the Resource Center for coffee, snacks, sharing and helpful information, once a month in a confidential and welcoming environment, while the children are in child care or school. LUNCH WITH US: Free community meal on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Prior to the lunch, the Resource Center opens at 9:00 a.m. for coffee, socializing, Wi-Fi use, etc.
FOOD COMMODITIES: First Thursday, April 2, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the front building.

QUILTING GROUP: Meets on the 3rd Monday of the month, 9:30 a.m. to noon.
HATHA YOGA on Wednesdays: 9:30 a.m-11 a.m. through April. Cost is $5, plus $2 for the Resource Center, taught by Kristine Louise. Mats are available. The cost is $7. Dress in layers for stretching outside on the back patio. Kombucha will be served after class.
